Dreams

As of late i have been having really weird, vivid dreams. The ones i remember the most seem to be right before i wake up. Makes sense. This morning at one point of my dream i ordered a Jimmy Johns vegetarian sandwich. But when i looked at it, there was salami in there. So i go back to the store which was a walk up store in a dark arena setting, i asked the lady to make me my correct sandwich. And she took forever!! She preceded to wait on others that came after me and ignored my order. Then, when she made my sandwich she put on 3 very small slices of tomato, a sprinkle of lettuce, and that's it! So i complained stating that since there was no meat, she should add MORE veggies to make it a wholesome sandwich. She really annoyed me.

*According to dream dictionary's: a sandwich could suggest that a lot of pressure and stress is being put on me. It also reflects my ability to do two things at once. However, sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich.
The stress part could make sense cause we have a lot of house bills and the cost of living just climbs while i stay at the measly per hour pay. But why would a sandwich transcend to stress?

I had another dream about a new house that Tony bought for us. It was really big but the inside was really dingy and ugly. There were a bunch of large rooms on the main floor which would be for our 2 house-mates which just happen to be his 2 brothers. And the top floor had many large rooms as well. The upstairs was also kind of ugly but there was a lot if sun shining in and also a balcony off the bedroom.

*According to dream dictionary's: to see an old, run-down house in your dream, represents your old beliefs, attitudes and how you used to think or feel. A situation in your current life may be bringing about those same old attitudes and feelings. Alternatively, the old house may symbolize your need to update you mode of thinking. To dream that your house is damaged, indicates your waking concerns about the condition of your house.
I think i can relate this to my life at the moment but don't care to get into that now.

I don't believe solely by dream dictionary's but do like to look into them to give me some in site. They can make sense. Although sometimes i feel they are sort of like horoscopes. People who believe in them tend to fit their life into them and stretch the content. All dream dictionary's in print or online can have different meaning for particular things. Just like horoscopes. One might say that you are unsure about your current status in life and another from a different source can say stop examining and put it out of your mind......

wait. what?

Random Fix For The Day

i stumbled upon this video today and thought it was worth the pass along. Enjoy!

Some More Randomness

1. I finally called and got my APR on my credit card lowered!!

2. Quote of the Day:
"If i got gas on me i would run to WalMart. Or i would just strip down to my guchies." (www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=guchies) When we checked the site it mentioned that it originated in PA and it was a bit derogatory in terms of the people who use them. But when i look it up now its just a short + sweet definition.

3. Tim Horton's in the morning = honey wheat bagel & coffee + $1.99

4. Curried Rice with Raisins and Almonds

Serves: 6 (1/2 cup servings) / Preparation time: 15 minutes / Total time: 15 minutes

winter

i woke up this morning, made my coffee and looked out the window. My daily routine. And its snowing - AGAIN. Michigan has set records the past couple days in the temperature and wind chill department, and i believe we also have in terms of snowfall this year. As long as i can remember this has been an unusually stormy winter season. Today its 8F out but feels like -5F with a forecast of 1-3 more inches.
Tony and i bought a house last fall, and we love it! We wanted a place of our own so we couldn't be picky with our options under our current work status. We decided to go with a house with a great location & yard, but without updated windows and the like.
So, when i woke up this morning to find a crazy pattern of ice on our windows i wasn't surprised. Kind of intrigued, and amazed how nature adapts to its surroundings and creates beauty and the most flipped out designs.

night one - scarf

When ever i pull out my knitting needles Tony calls me an old lady. And now that i have glasses, last night he called me an "old lady librarian."

I decided to make a scarf cause its simple and i can always add another one into my wardrobe. I was hoping the two strands of white would stand out more but the multi-color lash yarn sort of took over. Guess i'll make a white one next.

Quick tip of the night: search your local dollar store (dollar castle in mich.) for yarn. I found balls of this "eyelash" yarn last month. I was quite surprised, and had to grab one even though it wasn't on my list.

Finding Self

After asking my birth mother Sherry about my birth father over a year ago i finally had some new slides in hand. As my chest squeezed my heart and my breath became quicker i held a tiny stack of 6 slides on Friday night. Suddenly i felt small. A child. She told me she couldn’t remember too much about Craig since it had been roughly 26 years since he was in her life. Along with the images she wrote down a list of things she could think of. Favorite band Led Zeppelin. Ran track. Drove a truck. Had 1 brother and 1 sister. These were things you would write down when interviewing your classmate on the first day of class, i thought. Isn’t there anymore? I’m trying to piece together a puzzle that most of the pieces were lost, misplaced, sucked up with the vacuum cleaner. She was the one i was counting on to be holding some of the crucial pieces - like the corners! After a few days of having this slide i have come back to it to try to find something. Anything. But what am i looking for? A connection, a common thread to stitch us together? I’m not sure. But what i am sure of is that I’m taken to a familiar place. And I know this place well. I go there when I’m looking for a comfy place within myself. When i look out the window on a quiet fall day. And when i want the world to unfold in front of me as i watch with awe. As Craig stood there the camera captured it. Little did they know that this frame would have such an impact on me. Their daughter. So maybe i did find one of my corner pieces today. And this is why i love photography so much. It takes the viewer out of their element and into the world of the image. It can communicate when the spoken word cant.
